Underneath is a horror short story written by J. Patrick Lemarr and offered in two formats: an eBook single for digital readers and a Limited Edition Chapbook featuring illustrations by artist Jason Webb.
The Underneath eBook will available through Write Crowd Publishing and eventually, retailers like Amazon and Apple’s iBooks store. The cost of the single will be just .99 cents.
The Underneath Limited Edition chapbook features the horror tale contained within a handmade booklet limited to only 50 copies. Each chapbook is covered in 105lb coal black cardstock with vinyl letters spelling out the title. A cover flap with a velcro-dot enclosure can be easily opened to reveal a blood red title plate on the interior cover which bear the number of that particular booklet (No. 1 of 50, No. 34 of 50, etc.) Opposite the title plate will be a vellum page which, along with it’s underlying page, recreate the title and an image from artist Jason Webb. This image is incomplete if viewed on the vellum alone, just as the chapbook would be incomplete without the artwork of Mr. Webb. Behind the vellum and typical front matter (copyright, credits, etc.) you’ll find the complete and uncensored horror story followed by a blood red envelope attached to the back cover. Inside that envelope, will be 4 postcard-sized full color illustrations by Jason Webb. This unique publication is sure to be a conversation starter and, as it’s limited to only 50 copies, is a fine addition to any literary collection.
